Por volta das 18h15min desta segunda-feira, dia 06 de fevereiro, um grupo de quatro ou cinco homens assaltou uma loja de materiais de construção localizada na Avenida do Comércio, próximo à Terceira Pedra, em Itapoá.

Numa ação violenta, em que agrediram e ameaçaram um dos proprietários da loja, eles amarraram as vítimas e depois levaram dinheiro, celulares e eletrônicos, além de dois carros – uma caminhonete Volkswagen Amarok preta e um New Ford Fiesta branco.

Avisada sobre a ocorrência, a Polícia Rodoviária Estadual de Santa Catarina montou uma barreira na rodovia. Os assaltantes que estavam na Amarok perceberam a ação da Polícia, pararam a caminhonete na beira da via e correram para o mato. O condutor do Fiesta não conseguiu parar, vindo a sair da pista e colidir o carro.

Houve troca de tiros, o que resultou em um homem baleado e dois detidos. Um quarto assaltante fugiu pela mata e, apesar do esforço da Polícia, não foi capturado. A presença de um quinto elemento é investigada pela Polícia Civil. Ele daria apoio ao grupo, que é de Curitiba (PR), em um terceiro carro, qual não foi localizado.

Os dois automóveis roubados da loja de materiais de construção, além do dinheiro e objetos foram recuperados pelos policiais. O criminoso baleado pela Polícia foi encaminhado ao Hospital São José, de Joinville, segundo a PM em estado grave.

Além da Polícia Militar de Itapoá e da Polícia Militar Rodoviária de SC, participaram da ação, policiais militares de Garuva e a Rocam (Ronda Ostensiva com o Apoio de Motocicletas) de Joinville.
